About Us
Emerald has always been extremely curious and a bit skeptical about all things spirituality that have crossed her path. Growing up lukewarm Christian Baptist, she was never quite clear on what it meant to be a woman of faith. In adulthood, she explored spirituality more deeply, exposing herself to many religions by reading and studying various texts — from The Upanishads to The Dhammapada, the Quran, the Holy Bible, and more. As she explored these different traditions, she began to realize that they shared a common thread. This led her to become more spiritual than religious, as she felt she could better identify with the general direction they were all pointing toward — upward and inward. Through Buddhism, she found a philosophy that helped her navigate everyday life, integrated meditation as a regular practice, and learned to treat all experiences as her teacher. In seeking a guru, she ultimately became her own, using life itself as her classroom — a living playground for learning how to transcend the mortal afflictions that can keep us feeling trapped. She also enjoys pagan rituals, Rumi cards, and some of the Christian traditions she grew up with. For her, Sacred Roots Interfaith Community was created out of a need to build a space that is inclusive and welcoming for those on a spiritual path who, like her, do not feel particularly drawn to one religious tradition or dogma over another. For Emerald, patriarchal religion left her seeking a vision of the Divine that extended beyond earthly descriptions of such a loving source. Outside of her spiritual practice — and often within it — she is a wife, a mother of two, and a stepmother to two more. She works as a Financial Manager and enjoys spending time in nature, reading, and simply being.

Danielle has always been a very spiritual person. She was raised Catholic, but as she entered adulthood, decided to leave that practice, searching for the divine feminine and a religion that was inclusive of everyone. Through her exploration, she realized there is a universal truth and wisdom that runs through all of the spiritual traditions. She learned how to receive divine guidance through meditative writing and divination cards. When she found the gnostic gospels and the Buddhist Eightfold path, she began to develop her own unique practice. She calls herself a Buddhist Christian Witch, but embraces all wisdom traditions, and continues to learn and grow in her faith every day. For her, Sacred Roots Interfaith Community allows her to share in community with others, facilitate and lead in areas she has become well versed in spiritually, while also hearing from and learning from others. When she is not talking all things spiritual, she works as an Integrative Nurse Practitioner and Herbalist. She enjoys reading, connecting with nature, and spending time with her husband and two children.

Jenn
Physically, we reside in beautiful Southern New Hampshire. If you are local, we would love to meet up with you sometime!
Jenn grew up Baptist in her early years and within the UCC Congregational Church into her teens. From a young age, she was someone who asked a lot of “why” questions, a curiosity that continues to shape her life today. As an adult, Jenn considers herself spiritual rather than religious and remains deeply curious about learning and understanding different paths. In her twenties, she found yoga as a way to support her anxiety, which gently opened the door to Buddhism, meditation, and the Eightfold Path. In 2020, she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training and obtained her Reiki Level II certification. She taught yoga and shared its teachings for a few years before welcoming her first child in 2023. Becoming a mother transformed her in mind, body, and spirit and renewed her desire to explore the foundational aspects of religion and spirituality. The outdoors feel like home to Jenn. She finds grounding in hiking mountains, tending in the yard, or practicing barefoot meditative walks on the grass. Through this connection with the earth, she enjoys learning about and using herbs to support her overall wellbeing. More recently, she has begun exploring Pagan and Wiccan traditions as a way of reconnecting with her Scottish and Irish roots. Outside of spirituality, Jenn is a wife and mother to one child. She values time with family and friends and enjoys reading, baking, and being outdoors. For her, Sacred Roots Interfaith Community allows her to share her many gifts, while continuing to deepen her spirituality.
